Email Verification

Email verification ensures the security of your account and enables full access to crisisIQ features.

Why Verify Your Email?

Email verification is required to:

Security

Confirms you own the email address

Communication

Enables important notifications and updates

Password Recovery

Allows password reset if you forget it

Full Access

Required for joining simulations
Some features, especially joining participant simulations, require a verified email address. You may see limited functionality until verification is complete.

Verification Process

For New Accounts

When you create a new account:

Register Your Account

Complete the registration form with your email and other details

Check Your Email

Look for a verification email from crisisIQ in your inbox

Click Verification Link

Open the email and click the “Verify Email Address” button or link

Confirmation

You’ll be redirected to crisisIQ with a success message

Access Granted

Your account is now fully activated and you can access all features

For Invited Users

If you were invited by an organization:
  1. Accept the invitation via the email link
  2. Set your password
  3. A verification email will be sent automatically
  4. Click the verification link to complete setup

Verification Email

What to Expect

The verification email contains:
  • Subject: “Verify your crisisIQ email address”
  • From: noreply@crisisiq.com
  • Verification Link: Unique, time-limited URL
  • Validity: Link expires after 24 hours

Resending Verification Email

If you didn’t receive the verification email or it expired:

Login Attempt

Try to log in to your crisisIQ account

Verification Notice

You’ll see a message: “Email verification required”

Resend Request

Click the “Resend Verification Email” button

Check Inbox

A new verification email will be sent within minutes

Verify

Click the link in the new email to complete verification
You can request a new verification email up to 5 times per hour to prevent abuse.

Email Not Arriving?

If the verification email doesn’t appear in your inbox:
Email filters may have redirected the message. Check:
  • Spam folder
  • Junk folder
  • Promotions tab (Gmail)
  • Updates tab (Gmail)
Email delivery can take 2-5 minutes. Be patient before requesting a resend.
Log out and try to log back in. The system will show you which email address needs verification. Ensure it’s correct.
Add these addresses to your email whitelist/safe senders:
Some corporate email systems have aggressive filters. Contact your IT department to whitelist crisisIQ emails.
If you used a disposable or temporary email service, it may not be receiving messages. Contact support to update your account email.

Verification Status

Check Your Status

To see if your email is verified:
  1. Log in to crisisIQ (if possible)
  2. Go to Profile Settings
  3. Look for Email Status indicator
Status: Email Verified
  • Green checkmark next to email
  • Full access to all features
  • Can join simulations
  • Receives all notifications

Unverified Account Restrictions

Until you verify your email, you may experience:
  • Cannot join simulations as a participant
  • Limited notifications (in-app only)
  • No password reset capability
  • Restricted invitations to other users
Administrative and content creation features may still be accessible depending on your organization’s settings.

Changing Your Email

If you need to change your email address:

Update in Profile

Go to Profile Settings and update your email address

New Verification Required

A verification email will be sent to the new address

Verify New Email

Click the link in the email sent to your new address

Old Email Deactivated

Your old email will be replaced once the new one is verified
Your old email remains active until you verify the new one. This prevents accidental lockout.

Troubleshooting

  • Clear your browser cache and cookies
  • Log out and log back in
  • Wait a few minutes for the system to update
  • Contact support if the issue persists
If you no longer have access to your registered email:
  • Contact your organization administrator
  • They can update your email address
  • You’ll receive a verification email at the new address
